There are a lot of amazing Yarra Valley accommodation options to choose from. From Bed and Breakfast to Historic Manors and Vineyard Resorts. It’s a beautiful part of Victoria to visit.  For my weekend away, I was searching for a whole lot of relaxation and tranquility. This Yarra Valley accommodation with spa bath and luxury touches was the peaceful place I was looking for. This is Yering Gorge Cottages.

The Cottages

So beautifully appointed but also very comfortable and livable.

I’m staying in one of the 1 bedroom cottages which are well spaced apart for privacy. Each faces the river with open views of the surrounding Yarra Valley.

The first thing that takes my eye is a wood heater.  While the days spent here were warm and sunny, the nights can get unexpectedly cool so it’s always a treat to sit back to a fire burning.

The space is gorgeous with a well stocked kitchenette and everything you need for a cook up during your stay. I’m not planning on leaving so have brought my own supplies.

There are large open windows and a deck with quality furniture and a top of the range BBQ. We utilized this for one night while enjoying a drink as the sun goes down.

The king sized bed was super comfortable and I enjoyed a good nights sleep in peaceful silence.

They also have 2 and 4 bedroom accommodation for larger families and groups. .

Luxury touches

It’s those little things that help create a memorable experience. Comfort, added extras and a spa bath.

When I arrived the fire was already set up and ready to light. They had left some wood also on the deck and just behind the cottage was more supplies.

The bathroom has an open walk in shower and separate spa bath which I, of course took advantage of. The bathroom amenities were high quality, L’OCCITANE and I totally obliged as well.

A continental breakfast is provided of bread, muesli, milk, juice, yogurt, coffee and tea. I really loved the home made muesli and local tea selection.

If you prefer not to have to cook at all during your stay, you can order off the  “order and go” menu or maybe get a BBQ hamper. We chose a night of lamb shanks and potato gratin, it was simply huge yet a very reasonable price. It went down lovely with a bottle of local wine that we also purchased.

Where the kangaroos graze

Each and every afternoon we were welcomed by the kangaroos grazing on the grounds. Their calm and untroubled presence was a delight and showed just how serene the area is. We also had a good amount of bird life, predominantly white cockatoos.

Down toward the river you can go bush walking. I was keen to get out but unfortunately the ground was a little muddy after a week of decent rain so we strolled the grounds instead and sat in the rotunda just watching the day go by.

So much to explore – Yarra Valley

This is the region of wineries and fine local food. The Yarra Valley boasts an abundence of wineries, all within easy reach.

If you are up for a game of golf, Yering Gorge Cottages are located directly behind the Eastern Golf Course which is where you will check in.

There is also a range of walking trails and gardens to explore. You read more about them here.

This Yarra Valley accommodation with spa and wood heater ticked all the boxes during my weekend away. I can’t think of a better place to relax, unwind and explore.
